St Cathryn’s news

2017-12-13 06:00

THE course has greened up nicely after what must be one of the toughest springs recorded in years.

The greens that have taken a pounding have somewhat recovered and with the current hot and cold conditions (last week the temperature dropped to 12 degrees), the grass diseases have to be monitored and treated.

Our main irrigation dam is rising slowly and has almost surrounded the “Palm island”.

This Saturday December 16 we play our first Farmers’ Agri-Care Monthly Mug for 2018 and on Sunday we go back a year to play the Farmers’ Agri-Care Mug of Mugs and all winners from the past 12 monthly mugs get to play for the mug of mugs. Golfers please let Piet know if you can play.

Saturday evening is AGM report-back meeting and dinner and we hope to see all our invited sponsors for a meet- and-greet and members supper.

The “captains report” is a new agenda item and members are also reminded we collect money to tip the green-keeping staff as a thank you for their efforts during the year. Please will members and invited guests remember to reply by 10am on Thursday for catering purposes. To book for golf and/or meals, phone 083 269 1661 or 082 555 2661
