ON Saturday December 23 some local runners and friends took part in a fun “farm run”, using eight kilometres of the 25km mountain bike track on Piet Nel’s farm.

The course starts at the clubhouse, the route then goes under the main road and railway line, runs alongside the Potspruit River, through the vlei, on farm roads and boundaries and single track through pine and wattle trees.

Comments after the run were that additional signage was needed, the length was good and that we should try to join in with the local running series. Thank you to all who came to give their input, support and advice.

This past Saturday a 9 hole Better Ball competition was played by members and guests. The winners were Piet Nel and Kevin Williams with 26 points. Kevin has not played golf for a while due to injury, but looks like he is back.

This coming Saturday January 27 we will be playing the Farmers Agri-Care Monthly Mug from 9am.

We are pleased that Piet and Leonie Coetzee are coming to play all the way from Gauteng. He has issued a challenge to members that he is ready to take them on.

On Sunday January 28 some St Cathryn’s members will be playing in Greytown in the Jen’s Jug competition.

Members are reminded that subs are due and we would like payment by January 31.

To book for golf and/or meals, phone Piet on 083 269 1661.
