A SMALL field played in the Farmers Agri-care monthly mug on Saturday.

Mention must be made of Piet and Leonie Coetzee’s visit to their home course and Leonie also played in her first Medal round competition.

Piet Coetzee was up to his normal tricks, issuing challenges to all and sundry.

Piet Nel fell victim to Piet Coetzee and money changed hands. The greens had verti-cutting done on Monday and were left with a green tinge to them, but were not as hard, dry and unpredictable as the Wanderers’ pitch. The pin positions were changed for the competition so the tee box markers were moved up to compensate for the somewhat interesting pin positions.

The course has a new lease on life after all the rain (about 55 mm in the last week) and is now in full growing mode.
