THE players in the Farmers Agri-care Monthly Mug on Saturday, May 19 shared the seventh fairway with the helicopters that landed there to refuel while busy with work in the area.

A few of the players cut the corner on the seventh to make the par 4 an easier than normal “birdi-able” hole.

Fourteen players played and the team from Harmony enjoyed their day the most. We were also pleased to welcome back Darren Coull and Seven Oaks golfer Andre Liddemore.

This weekend on Saturday May 26, we host our annual St Cathryn’s Classic, now in it’s 17th year, this is the main fundraiser for the club and all golfers and companies are welcome to be part of our day to play, stay or sponsor — or all three.

Our cycle track will also be available for non-golfers to cycle. Cost of entry will be R250 per player including green fees, half time, prizes and supper afterwards.

Format 4BBBS, and tee-off early from 7 am then from 9.30 am onwards.

The course is still wonderfully green as we have not had any major frost yet, but that may change. There will be no Garden Club on Friday but you are welcome to book for supper on Saturday, May 26 — roast pork, vegetables in season and apple crumble, with custard and ice-cream at R75 per person (non-golfers). To book for golf and/or supper please phone Piet at 083 269 1661 or Cathy at 082 555 2661.
