THE Farmers Agri-care Monthly Mug and Sanlam Cancer Challenge were played over the weekend and three of our members took the time and effort to drive down from Pretoria to participate.

Besides the local and Greytown players other members from Hillcrest and Pietermaritzburg were in the fields.

In the two competitions played the Farmers Agri-care Monthly Mug is played in a medal format and the Sanlam challenge in Individual stableford, as well as over three divisions.

Fast slippery greens with the same pin positions as for the last competitions, still made for good and competitive competition.

Reminder of the match play tournament taking place over the June 23 and 24 weekend where the top eight players from the Tuta Carriers club championship will be playing for the top spot and to take the “Nel Blue” jacket home.

This coming weekend, whilst watching the U.S. Open golf tournament on TV, look out for the green keeping staff at the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills golf club, as St Cathryns member Justin Harrison will be one of the large contingent of green keeping staff selected to work on the course for the duration of the tournament.
