St Cathryn’s news

2018-09-12 06:02

TWO of our members represented St Cathryn’s at the “Champion of Champions”, played at Kloof Golf Club, but the rain over the weekend caused the organisers to reduce the 36 hole, two-day competition to a 25 hole, one-day competition that was held on Sunday.

Deon van Dyk, our Tuta Carriers Club Champion 2018, played 123 – 17, nett score of 106, and Dieter Meyer, our match play champion 2018, played 127 -17, nett score 110.

The rain that fell in Kranskop measured 30 mm and was most welcome, but Monday morning saw the course under a light blanket of frost.

On Saturday, September 15, the club will host the Farmers Agri-care Monthly Mug. September 20 and September 21 will see Hermannsburg school hosting their annual golf day.

Their competition is played over two days and any golfer or sponsor can get involved in this flagship golf day and play either on Friday or Saturday.

Please note that it is only one competition but we are having three official tee off times. Play either Friday morning, or Saturday early-bird tee off from 7 am, the main field will be from 10 am on the Saturday — competition better ball.

Non-golfers are welcome to ride the cycle track and it’s a fun ride over 7 km or 19 km. All funds raised go to Hermannsburg school.

This Friday, September 14, is a bring and braai at the club. To book for golf and/or meals please contact Piet at 083 269 1661.
