St Cathryn’s news

2019-07-17 06:01

THE biggest surprise on Saturday, July 13 at the Farmer Agri-care Monthly Mug was to have our sponsor playing in the field of players and looking at the results, Patrick walked away with a handful of the prizes.

St Cathryn’s golfers are generous players but Paddy, you showed us how to play our own course. Thank you to all the members who came to enjoy the winter sunshine.

The greens were very fast, and unfortunately hard, but the course is playing well in the wintery conditions. Weed control on the greens will be taking place in the coming week, where Poa (weed), a winter grass, is popping up on the greens.

The two gentlemen (from SAGA) that came to rate the course left after measuring fairway lengths and widths, the tee boxes and the size of the greens and their report is awaited.

1st — Dieter Meyer nett 68

2nd — Patrick O’ Sullivan nett 73 o.c.o

3rd — Heinrich Sander

4th — Maruis Muller nett 78 o.c.o

5th — Piet Nel.

Best stableford and best Greytown golf club member: Patrick O’ Sullivan — 35 points.

Captains Putter: Fritz Volker.

Nearest to pin 9/18th: Dieter Meyer — very lucky because the wind caused havoc with the other golfers’ shots into the green on the day.

The winter special is in place until the end of August 2019 for R220 per golfer, unlimited golf and cart included. Terms and conditions apply.

Please phone Piet to make a booking on 083 269 1661.
