St Cathryn’s news

2019-08-21 06:01

ON Saturday, August 17 a small field of golfers attempted to win the Farmers Agri -care Monthly mug, with the Greytown August mug winner in the field and trying to make a” double mug win”— a first for a St Cathryn’s golfer. Neither the pin oaks that were moved off the fourth and thirteenth fairway, nor the excellent golfing weather drew as much attention as the pin placings (and the fact that Merwin Rabe was on the eve of his first wedding anniversary), the greenkeeper had to guard his wickets as the pin positions from him had no grounding. Besides the “fun” pin positions, the very fast greens led to the odd two and three putts.

The greens were mowed twice in the past week. Tee boxes will be scarified in the coming week to remove the excessive thatch.
