ST. DAVID’S pupils and staff celebrated Nelson Mandela’s birthday on July 18 by each donating six or seven or even 67 items of food, clothing or cash to Letcee early childhood development projects in the district. In this way, the school honoured Nelson Mandela’s call to action for people to help change the world around them for the better.

At his 90th birthday celebration, Mandela said: “It is time for new hands to lift the burdens.

“It is in your hands now.”

The donations were received with grateful thanks by Di Kohne of Letcee. — Supplied.
