Successful ‘open days’ in aid of Arcadia

2018-05-30 06:02

ON Wednesday and Thursday last week, the Concordia Senior Citizens Centre was abuzz with activity when the centre hosted a very successful community project in aid of Arcadia.

A tempting selection of clothing, silver jewellery, scarves, wire craft, Tupperware, Mannatech health supplements and Justine products were displayed.

Also on sale were beautifully knitted jerseys of all sizes, warm winter hats, crotchet work and other handcrafted items made by the Concordia Busy Bees group.

A group of dedicated volunteers from the NG Church and Arcadia were kept very busy as they cooked a total of 1 600 pancakes over the two days.

Arcadia staff delivered ordered pancakes throughout the day to various companies in Greytown to enjoy for lunch or tea.

After browsing through the lovely items for sale, many shoppers enjoyed a welcome cup of tea and delicious cake while basking in the warm autumn sunshine and chatting to friends.

The organisers wish to extend a big “thank you” to all who donated a cake or plate of eats for the tea table over the two days.

A substantial amount of money was raised from these open days for this most worthy cause.

The organisers feel truly blessed to be part of such a supportive community.
