KZNl mountain biker Stuart Marais blitzed the tacky and slippery four-kilometre cross-country course at the second round of the 2017 KZN MTB Provincial XCO Cup Series at St Ives in the Midlands in an incredible time of 1:15:43 on Saturday.

Young Sabine Thies, the  strongest female rider, did well to win the women’s race and finished fourth overall in her batch in a time of 59:53. Sabine is from Wartburg.

Saturday’s race was the second of the three-part series of races which culminates in the provincial championships in June.
