HAPPY Nation Events & Entertainment hosted the Sakhisizwe Talent Show for the second time in Mbuba on 1 January.

The founders and organisers of the event are Sakhile Lombo, Sizwe Lombo, Sanele Lombo and Ntomby Lombo. Sakhile, director of Happy Nation Productions, told the Greytown Gazette that the aim of hosting such an event is to encourage and promote music and art talents in the community. Artists are also encouraged to compose songs and poems which are educational, motivational and truthful and which can play a role in educating the youth to stay away from life-damaging activities like crime and drugs.

Over 500 people attended the show.

Programme directors were Sbongalokhu Phungula of Msinga Gangstars and Luck Zondi. Some of the groups who participated included Abafana Bamancoko, Mncedeni, China Sbiya, Amajaji Amahle, Abafana Baka Nsele, Amahlanza Amahle, Thabile Phungula- poet, Sanele Dlamini Poet, Lwazi and Luyanda - poet, Kidut - hip-hop star, TCC Gospel Choir and others.

Congratulations to the TCC Gospel Choir and Amajaji Amahle Maskandi group on winning. They were awarded trophies, medals and R1 000 for each. We also like to thank all the groups who participated in our event and also thank the community who came out in huge numbers. We also thanks the sponsors Min Cash - Food town, Aheers Multisave, Boxer, Radio Khwezi, Mthembu Tent, Nqo Mbatha, Nxumalo and the Zondi family for allowing us to use their premises.
