Thank you for accident assistance

2016-03-16 06:00

Sir, ON the first really wet day (last Tuesday) I was driving from Wartburg to Pietermaritzburg and when turning the corner above Copesville, hit a wall of water and the car slipped off the road then fell backwards down a steep embankment.

Mr Essop Mahommed, who saw the accident happen, immediately stopped to help and got the car out and up the bank and waited with me as did Mr Eggers of Dalton who had also stopped to assist until my son arrived.

My son and Gordon of Diedricks Panelbeaters winched the vehicle back onto the road to transport it back to Greytown –fortunately there was minimal damage.

Mr Mahommed and Mr Eggers refused to leave me alone before Ken arrived stating that the car strippers would pounce – a couple of them did turn up, but on seeing the two “guards” left the scene.

A big thank you to both these gentlemen.
