Thank you to many helping hands

Sir, WE were involved in the car accident that happened just outside Greytown at the D76 turn-off at approximately 2.50pm on Tuesday 8 March.

A bakkie, waiting to turn right, was hit from behind onto our path. My husband made a desperate attempt to avoid the collision by veering left, but we were side-swiped off the road. Our vehicle connected two signpost poles and certainly stopped us from rolling.

We were helped immediately by the people in the two cars following behind. Bridget Holmes went out of her way to render assistance. She also took me to Dr Nodada's rooms in Pine Street who attended to me without delay. The other witness, a young man out from the UK visiting family, supplied all the details needed by a highly efficient SAPS contingent.

Plennegy airfield personnel (where my husband works) swiftly answered my husband's call. Special thanks to Pravin Orie for his invaluable supervision of our vehicle, which was towed to Vee's for assessment. Kevin too for his time and seeing us safely home and Brokersure Greytown for its continued arm of support.

Strange but true, the only car leaving the scene with little or no damage was the one that caused the accident ... Mr Bean-style. However, with no fatalities we give thanks and with grateful hearts can say Greytown folk really do rally together in time of need.
