Tholinhlanhla Topics

2017-06-07 06:00

Tholinhlanhla Primary Full-Service School was selected by uMzinyathi District to attend Children's Parliament in Pietermaritzburg and Durban last weekend.
They watched videos which taught pupils how national Parliament works. There were discussions on what the Speaker does, the importance of the Mace and the behaviour of the members of Parliament. There were debates on different topics - killing children for muthi, cyber bullying and forcing children to marry at an early stage (children abduction)

Our pupils were awarded with certificates of attendance.

On 26 May Tholinhlanhla Youth Citizens Action Programme (Y-Cap) team represented the school at the Dundee Education Centre on a programme that empowers and motivate pupils to be active citizens in life issues such as communication skills, organisation skills, project management, public speaking. and so on. The team, led by Mrs L.P. Khuzwayo, came third and was awarded a certificate.

Thanks to parents, pupils, SGB and teachers for their input to pupils’ success.
