Top entertainment at Wembley Duck Derby

2016-08-31 06:00

THERE will be exciting entertainment at the annual Wembley College Duck Derby on Saturday, 10 September with three separate shows during the day.
The first performance is at 2pm - Faz and the Firecrackers - which is sure to set the stage alight. This five-piece band is a combination of unusual musical sounds and quirky entertainment. Their music includes a combination of instruments - electric and acoustic guitar, mandolin, percussion, ukulele, violin, bass, drum and keyboard to create a unique musical feast of indie pop.

At 3pm DJ Ossewa “sal die mense maak lag”. The band is made up of three performers - Daniel Jakobus, Vet Frik and Jeerbes die Leeuboer - some of their most popular songs are Boeresports, Kom Help My Varkie Vang, Vrystaat Mambo, and Trompie en die Boksombende.

The Glitter Girls, three of Durban’s most versatile and loved performers - Lisa Bobbet, Lisa Coppin and Marion Loudon - will be on stage at 4pm.
All three have been the recipient of the coveted Mercury Durban Theatre Personality of the year award. They have put together a musical comedy that is light hearted and entertaining. Glitter Girls hinges around a high-school reunion with songs from the eighties up to today.

Tickets are R150 for all three shows. Contact Wembley College office on 033 413 2677 to book your tickets.
