Tribute to G.T. OLLERMAN

2018-07-18 06:01

EX-GREYTONIANS Paul and Rea Dobson, who now farm in Mkushi, Zambia sent the following tribute to G.T. Ollerman:

“It was a sad day, hearing of the passing of G.T. Ollerman.

Our heartfelt condolences to Monica and the Ollerman family.

As we all knew, G.T. was a fantastic family man, great farmer, and a wonderful friend who was always willing to help others in all situations.

G.T’s. knowledge of farming, timber, cattle and fires around the Umvoti Vlei was second to none.

The advice he gave was always the best, and most knowledgeable, for miles around.

G.T. helped me with my cattle, burning fire breaks, and how to work in my forestry contracting — I have never forgotten to this day.

As a friend, advisor, and neighbor he was a fantastic mentor. Umvoti has lost a huge asset.

Whenever visiting Greytown, I would always call in on G. T. And Monica, there were always words of advice, a hot cup of tea and home-made scones to be had, a wonderful homely feel about meeting up with them whenever one called.

Greytown, you have lost a big one, condolences to all.

G. T. You will always remain in our hearts.

RIP old friend”.
