Phakamani Thabiso Phakathi (38), died in a motor-car accident on the Greytown to Pietermaritzburg road, recently.

Phakamani was an admissions clerk at Greytown Hospital.

He was the son of Velesazi and Bongekile Phakathi from Muden. He matriculated at Greytown Secondary School and then completed a diploma in public management at Durban University of Technology.

In his spare time he played soccer for the Greytown Hospital team. He was involved in agricultural projects in the Muden area where he led a group of emerging farmers and was in the process of harvesting mealies and had acquired a new tractor to expand his new venture to assist the community.

Phako was laid to rest at Muden.
The service was attended by family and a large crowd of mourners. - Oscar Zondi.
