Umshwathi Municipality one-year report-back

2017-11-22 06:02

THE Umgungundlovu District Municipality and the Umshwathi Municipality are working together to address water problems and other social challenges in the area.

At a one-year report-back and media tour last week, the scope of work undertaken to deal with the water crises - water reservoirs and pump stations and new pipe connections being processed - were presented.

District Mayor Thobekile Maphumulo said the municipality had never denied that the water supply remained a challenge, but were doing its best to solve the problems.

Umshwathi Municipality Mayor Siphindile Mbhele said: “As we have completed one year in office, it is the right time for us to reflect on our achievements as Umshwathi Municipality.

“All the activities undertaken have been aimed at achieving our vision of being a healthy, secure and self-sustainable community by 2030.”
