Umvoti mayor at Sibiya family funeral

2017-10-18 06:00

“MAYOR, Cllr TC Ngubane, has taken it upon himself to walk with the Sibiya family until the end of this bitter chapter.

The mayor said this at the Sibiya family funeral that was held at Sangweni Primary School in Embangweni this past weekend.

Eight members of the Sibiya family were brutally murdered at their home earlier this month.

Three of the deceased were buried this weekend, among them 58-year-old Nanazi Sibiya and her two grandchildren, Okuhle and Sthabile.

The remaining five will be buried once forensic investigations are complete.

The mayor said although the thugs involved in this mass murder seem to have won, justice will prevail and the thugs will be bought to book.

The funeral was attended by numerous officials ranging from the district mayor, PMS Ngubane, to MEC for Community and Safety Liaison, Mxolisi Kaunda.

All these officials supported the mayor’s stance, saying as they had walked together since the day of the incident, they would stand firm until the end”.
