THIS festive season is really special for five families in Umvoti with the handing over of a newly built house for each family by Umvoti Municipality last week.

The houses were officially handed over to the Mhlongo, Masikane, Thusi, Malembe and Xhakaza families in Thulini, Eshane and Embangweni.

These government subsidised homes will benefit impoverished families who depend mainly on social grants as income, are pensioners, and in many cases, care for their grandchildren.

After handing over the houses as well as basic necessities to the families, Umvoti Mayor Cllr TC Ngubane, addressed the Embangweni community about ongoing housing projects in the area.

This project will benefit 1 000 people Umvoti and by so doing, improve the quality of lives for all.
