Very important water meeting

2016-07-13 06:00

ANSWERS to the many water queries Greytown residents have raised over the past months will be answered at a meeting tomorrow, 14 July, called by the Umzinyathi District Mayor Councillor L. Ngubane and Umvoti Mayor Cllr T. Ngubane.

The meeting will be held at 4pm in the Greytown Town Hall. An appeal by the mayors to businesses, residents, water consumers and farmers has been issued asking them to attend this important meeting to be updated in regard to the current water situation and the future.

A spokesperson for Umzinyathi said that information would be provided on the status of the Craigieburn pipeline, which is way beyond the original target date for operation. An update on the Phase 2 project as a boost to the Greytown water supply is also expected.

The Greytown Gazette receives many queries every day about the water crisis - please attend Thursday’s meeting to obtain such information from Umvoti’s water service provider, Umzinyathi District Municipality.
