A POMEROY soccer team, AmaTen-Ten Football Club, were crowned the winners of the Msinga U15 Football Playoffs 2019. The team will now participate in the district tournament that will be held on November 30. U15 Youth Football sport coordinator Mlondi Nene said: “We have been playing [in the] Community League that [took place from] August 3 until October 12 under the patronage of the South African Football Association [SAFA] together with the Department of Sports and Recreation.” The Community League games saw teams from each ward in Msinga battle it out for a chance at the play-offs and district tournament success. After going head to head against the other teams from their regions, the teams that participated in the play-offs were Riots FC, AmaTen-Ten Football Club, Yashisa FC, and Satellite FC. Riots FC were the winners of Ward 8 under the Nteneshane zone; Yashisa FC were the winners for Ward 10 in the Keate’s Drift zone; Satelite FC were the winners of Ward 5 for the Tugela Ferry zone; and AmaTen-Ten Football Club were the Ward 5 winners from Pomeroy. On November 16, these four teams clashed at the Msinga U15 Football Play-offs, held in Msinga at the Mzisho Sports Ground, where the Pomeroy team AmaTen-Ten FC secured the first position, qualifying to compete in the district tournament that will take place on November 30.
