Voter registration weekend

2016-04-13 06:00

GREYTOWN IEC is still in the process of confirming the figures from the past voting registration weekend in Umvoti, but is estimating that over 10 000 people visited the voting stations, with more than 1 000 new voters registering.

With the announcement last week that the local government elections will take place on Wednesday 3 August, political parties have moved into top gear.

The weekend was marred by incidents of violence in the Muden area where charges of attempted murder have been laid with the Muden SAPS.

Registration details can still be checked at the Greytown IEC office.
