Water is life.

Human life cannot sustain without it yet we continue to waste and abuse this vital resource. Over the last decade it has become increasingly evident that one of the greatest challenges to society, the economy and the environment is access to water.

On Thursday, June 7, Greytown Garden Club is hosting Professor Mark Dent, Manager for South Africa of the International Alliance for Water Stewardship who will be presenting a talk titled “Water the No. 1 Global Risk: leading ourselves out of the hole”. Water plays a central role in all 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals and the World Economic Forum’s 2015 report on Global Risk placed water at number one. Professor Dent will be talking on what it means to lead in such a complex space and what strategic game changes leaders can create, particularly in their own catchment areas. This presentation will take place at the Greytown Country Club at 5.30 pm for 6 pm.

Tickets will cost R75 per person and includes a meal, and are available from Cheryl at RTS or Ashley at Greytown Country Club. Please purchase tickets by May 31 to facilitate catering. Enquiries can be forwarded to Jen at 082 921 2134 or Julie at 082 416 9166.
