LETHIWE MAKHANYAKaunda said he believes that Ndaba’s murder was planned and he won’t be satisfied until the police has found the person responsible. “Judging from the way this murder happened it is clear it was planned. When making an arrest, we will not only be satisfied by arresting the person who pulled the trigger but we also want to arrest the person who orchestrated this. That is the only way that will help us in preventing these killings,” he said. Kaunda said he has spoken to the national police commissioner, General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, who Kaunda said had indicated that the police were close to making an arrest. “They [the murderers] can run for now but they must know that no one is above the law. We will catch them and they will face the law. We have lost a hero, a person who loved his job and who did everything in his power in making sure that South African citizens abide by the law,” he said. Mpumi Ndaba, Ndaba’s sister, said the family is still in shock as it is difficult to come to terms with what has happened. “We have hope that police will find the people who killed him. Maybe, if they are caught, we will be able to get the answers we are looking for,” she said.
