WEMBLEY College is delighted to announce a new recycling initiative to improve the eco-friendly status of the school.

Pupils, staff, families, and friends of the school are being encouraged to join together in a mass collection of HDPE plastic containers. These are identified by the number two in the recycling logo (a triangle) at the base of the container.

Containers manufactured from HDPE plastic most frequently contain milk, maas or detergent. Wembley’s goal is to collect 2 000 kilograms of this quality plastic.

To facilitate easy collection, drop off zones have been set up at strategic positions around the school. If 500 kilograms of HDPE plastic is collected, the school will receive a new bench made from the collected, recycled material. The Wembley recycling is striving towards creating a cleaner environment in Greytown by applying the philosophy — “Reduce; Reuse and Recycle”.
