GRADUALLY disappearing week by week as vandals take what they want. This is one of three houses owned by KZN in Scott Street, between Durban and Sergaunt streets.

Several years ago one of the houses burnt down - the charred remains and a jungle is all that remains of that one. A second one is occupied and the third as can be seen in this photo is fast disappearing as the surrounding jungle also takes over.

A concerned Greytown resident has since last year reported the destruction of this house to various authorities - provincial, municipal and the Greytown SAPS. No one is prepared to accept ownership or responsibility and absolutely no action has been taken.

The concerned resident told Greytown Gazette that the burnt-out house is rat infested and is presenting a potential health hazard.

As there are people "squatting" in the vandalised house the situation needs urgent attention, but who cares?
