Many thanks to André Strydom and his busy team. We also thank Mrs Barber and Mr Sayed for helping with transport.

There were many “oohs” and “aahs” from our JP audience as they were wowed by beautiful backdrops, puppets and ultimately a beautiful story. The story revolved around a puppet who was hosting a Christmas Extravaganza, but she knew something was missing. Although many thought it was the lack of presents, sure enough it was the most important person. The reason there is a Christmas to celebrate is our Lord Jesus Christ. We saw the wise men, shepherds, angels and even a few lambs in the celebration of his birth. It was such a lovely way to remind us of what Christmas is all about.

Grade 2 pupils have learnt about various themes throughout the year. However, the fourth term’s theme on food gave them a reason to celebrate. An elegant formal dinner was held in the new catering room. Pupils arrived in their best attire, sporting bow ties, satin gloves, tuxedos, tiaras and jewels, each making sure that even the finest detail of their outfit was in ship-shape. The excitement buzzed in the air as photographer snapped away, capturing these precious moments.
They were then led into the dining area where the gentlemen helped each young lady find her seat. The Grade 2 pupils were treated to a three-course meal and at each course learnt about table manners, menus and proper dining etiquette. During the evening they played food- themed trivia games and enjoyed answering some of these brain teasers.
A big thank you to Mr Swart for letting us use his table décor as this made the evening so much more formal. We also thank all the special moms who were willing to help create such a special and memorable evening. We could not have done it without you.
