ON Wednesday 18 November eight brave Form 4 pupils and two teachers set off for Shongweni Dam for the annual Form 4 camp.
After a long drive and getting lost in the township we managed to find our way to the Spirit of Adventure site. After a hearty welcome pupils unpacked their bags into their bunks and were whisked off by capable camp leaders for their first day of activities, in which one group of unnamed pupils got lost in the forest (even though they had a map).
When dinner time came pupils received the news that they would be cooking for themselves, which they did quite well (except for the burnt union fiasco).
Day two brought with it a new set of challenges such as the assault course and mind games. Again, dinner was a self-prepared meal, but this time nothing was burnt or overly salty and was wolfed down by the hungry explorers. The final day was made up of walking across high structures and jumping onto trapeze bars which pupils enjoyed.

The sports department expresses its sincere thanks to Jan van der Merwe and his team of groundsmen. We are sure that staff, parents and pupils will agree that the Wembley grounds are looking fantastic.

Derek Brown is running two tennis tournaments in December. The McCarthy Toyota tournament will be held on 5 and 6 December at Epworth, and the Greytown Plennegy tournament will be held on 10 and 11 December at the town courts. For more information and to request an entry form, contact the sports department.

The uniform shop will be open from Monday, 11 January, 2016 to Friday the 15 January, 2016 from 10am to 4pm and on Monday 18 January, 2016 from 10am to 4pm.
