CONGRATULATIONS to Calista Muna for an excelling on the tennis court over the past few weeks.

Calista was selected for the Midlands U15 girls' tennis team that participated at the provincial tournament at Kershaw Park Pietermaritzburg from 3-6 March. She played exceptionally well and ended fourth in her age group, defeating the Durban U15 girls' champion in the process.

As a reward she has been selected for the KZN U15 Girls’ Tennis team who will be playing at the Tennis South Africa Week in Pretoria from 31 March to 4 April. What makes this achievement even more prestigious is the fact that she is only U14 this year.

Well done to Ludwig and Milla Herbst who have been selected to represent Ballito Lifesaving Club at the 2016 Lifesaving SA Stillwater National Championships which take place in Durban from 28 April until 1 May. This is the third time that Ludwig and Milla will compete at the National Championship and sister Nicola will be competing for the second time. Milla has also been selected to represent KZN at these championships.

This is the third consecutive year that Milla has earned her KZN colours for lifesaving, which shows her dedication and commitment to the sport. She has trained hard over the past season to successfully make the change to the new international-sized manikin which she will use from now on, and based on her season results thus far, we are hoping she is selected to one of the national squads for 2016.

On Wednesday 9 March, the summer league finals were played despite the heavy rain. Both the A and B league finals were played in great spirit. In the A league, the Hurricanes had come out on top, winning 2-0, after a hard-fought win against a young Core team.

In the B league, Starbucks played against the Astronoughts, which is made up of Wembley pupils. After going to penalty shoot-outs, the Astronoughts emerged victorious. We would like to thank players for a great season and a special thank you to the young umpires who volunteered for us.
