Wembley hosted the annual Clash of the Leopards fixture against Felixton College on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 May.

It was fantastic to have the sports fields full of activity and to see so many parents supporting their children.

The Felixton Senior Primary pupils came through to play hockey on the Friday afternoon. They were then kindly hosted by our Wembley Senior Primary parents for the night. We express our sincere gratitude for your hospitality.

On Saturday, the high school travelled through with their hockey teams. The SP boys played rugby and the SP girls played a second round of hockey.

Thank you to Jan van der Merwe for the grounds that looked amazing, Sue Stratford for her hard work with tea and lunches for the Felixton pupils as well as all the staff and coaches for their effort and support over the two days.

Congratulations to Felixton on winning the day.

On 20 and 21 May, the Umzinyathi hockey team went through for inland trials in Pietermaritzburg. Well done to John Yeadon for making the U12 Inland B Midlands team. He thoroughly deserves this achievement and Wembley College can be extremely proud.

We would also like to congratulate Sarah Barber who has been selected along with 25 other players to attend the final KZN U14B hockey trials on Sunday, 4 June at St Anne’s. This is an excellent achievement to be selected to compete with the best U14 girls’ hockey players within the province. Well done Sarah.

Thanks again to TWK for their generous sponsorship of two sets of pole protectors, which have already added value to the image of our school during the home sport festivals that have been hosted.
