AN adventurous, wet, but fun-filled two days were spent at Glenrock near Mooi River. Upon arrival at Glenrock, the Grade 4 pupils learnt about commercial farming and the process of making flour from grains of wheat. They then mixed their own home-made pizza dough. They had many educational and adventurous activities, including zip lining, kayaking, subsistence farming, visiting a large-scale dairy, hiking and they even planted their own vegetables. Although we had a wet start, the weather could not dampen our enthusiasm, and we all had a wonderful time. Thank you to Mr Fischer and Mr Swart for the help with the transport. The Grade Rs have been learning about 3D shapes. On 6 October they were delighted to be able to construct their own cube and pyramid from Jelly tots and toothpicks. What fun. The Grade 3 pupils recently completed their project presentations to the rest of the class and did a marvellous job. We learnt so many new and interesting facts about the different countries, the culture, cuisine as well as that countries trade, currency, and history. Each pupil also made their own passports, which were stamped after every touchdown. The children enjoyed the experience and have expressed their interest in travelling all over the globe someday.
