Window on Wembley

WEMBLEY College hosted its fifth and final auction at the Greytown Country Club on Wednesday, January 31.

Over the past few months, just over 120 players have been sold and a total of R167 000 has been raised. These funds are going towards lighting at the astro. The initial quote we received is R1 000 000 but we are currently in the process of getting additional quotes. This is not a once-off event that can reward us with lights but this is a goal of ours and we will continue to run events like these to get lighting at our astro.
The money that has been raised will be invested until we receive the right quote and then we can hopefully achieve our target. We would personally like to thank Bracken Timbers, Umvoti Fuel & Oil, Engen, Mascor, Rhino Charcoal, John Deere, Plennegy, Holme Lacy and Umvoti Tyres & Batteries for being on board for this fun initiative and for creating an incredible vibe at all the auctions. Dita Hockey have been kind enough to join us for the day of our Wembley College Premier League where they will be running various competitions throughout the day as well as sponsoring some prizes. We invite parents to come and have a look at their products as they will be having a stall where items can be bought. We would like to thank Dita for their support for this event.Wembley College would like to congratulate the following top achievers in each of the high school form classes. We are proud of your hard work In Form 2: Brent Bown 86,47%, Form 3: Kaden Moonsamy 93,47%,Form 4: C.G. Nefdt: 93,1% and in Form 5: Georgia Bown 88,42%.
