ON February 6, the Form 1s spent the morning doing different mathematical problems at Min Cash. Problems included working out averages, calculating different areas, finding the mass of products and working out a balanced meal, etc.

Thank you Mr and Mrs Sayed for your help and involvement, and the treats we were given after the exercise.

Furthermore, Conquesta sent us the 2017 Top 20 schools results and we made this list for 10 of the Conquestas we wrote last year. We actually managed all of them in the Top Ten position!

On the sporting front, Qwyn Francis won a gold medal in the U10 butterfly race at the Umgungundlovu Championship Gala on January 27. He is actually under nine. He also won a silver medal for backstroke and a bronze for freestyle.

Furthermore, we would like to congratulate the following boys for their places in the following events: Julian Königkrämer 3rd in the 150 m, Yethaba Mchunu 3rd in the long jump: 3,64 m and 3rd overall for U12 100 m, his time was 13,69. Nicholas Homes 5th in 1 200 m. Unfortunately, they only take the top to the Umzinyathi trials next week. The boys did so well and there was a lovely camaraderie among the three of them during the day, supporting each other. Wembley hosted a Top 10 Gala on February 1. Each school entered one swimmer per age group per gender to swim all four strokes. One U9, U10, U11, U12 and U13 boys and girls. The following swimmers from Wembley won top swimmer in their age group.

U9 boys — Qwyn Francis

U11 girls — Jasmine Pillay

U12 boys — Joshua Cope

Wembley came second out of the seven schools. Congratulations to all our swimmers for doing their best.
