WEMBLEY’S Senior Primary and High School Speech and Drama Festival took place recently.
We had a total of 103 entries: 51 of these were awarded an A or an A+. Johnathan Orton and Ann Walmsley were our adjudicators, and they were assisted by the very able Kim Steyn. We would like to thank everyone involved for their dedication.
It was a successful festival and we are proud of every effort that was made. Pupils who achieved As or A+s in their individual items:

This past week, Wembley also held its Golden Awards evening at the Pannar Lounge.
It was an intimate hour and a half or so spent listening to some of our very talented pupils as they performed their poetry, mimes and public speeches.
The senior primary and high school classes also had the opportunity to showcase their choral verses.

Well-done to all the pupils who participated and entertained the audience. It was a most enjoyable evening.

A big thank you goes out to Charles Warden who kindly made goalposts for the break-time soccer sessions for the senior primary. We are so pleased with this improvement on our playground. Thank you also to Jan van der Merwe for attaching the nets and bringing them down to school for us.

On Wednesday, February 28, the pre-school Grade RR and Grade RRR classes went to Sheona’s Swim School for a morning of fun and water safety.
Eighteen Grade RRRs, each accompanied by a parent, enthusiastically joined Sheona in the pool for lessons on water safety. The Grade RRs also had a turn with Sheona, with all her knowledge and experience, helping our children become water safe.

Wembley also congratulates Luke and Tayla Porée for being the victor and victrix in their relevant age groups, U16 boys and open girls, at the co-ed gala held at Treverton. Well done!

Finally, Wembley would like to thank Mascor for sponsoring a very enjoyable Spelling Bee on Wednesday, February 28. Congratulations to the following super spellers:
