ON Friday, June 8, 22 grade four and five children attended the Night at the Library.

What fun was had all round! The children divided themselves into five groups — adventure, humour, fantasy, classics and mystery — and there were five challenges that had to be completed by each group for them to earn five clues to a certain book in the SP library shelves.

With enthusiasm they balanced books on their bodies, threw book-page-balls through a taped-off doorway, kept balloons up in the air with books, blew book-page-strips into a basket and wrote Wembley College with pipe cleaners, and all found their books in the end.

After they had a picnic on the library carpet, another challenge was given.

Each of the five groups received a building kit, with cardboard building squares, with which they had to create a statue.

The true Wembley spirit and level of creativity and skill among the children was lovely to observe. Thank you to all parents who supported this evening. The funds raised are going into our SP shelves very soon.
