What a special 21st birthday celebration! Thank you to all the participants of the annual go-kart races last week Thursday.

Everyone made a huge effort to dress up. We all enjoyed the creative outfits that raced across our track!

The go-kart races were lightning fast, so the winning team in each grade have won a super prize — a Civvies Day this Friday. Here are the winners.

Grade R — P.J. Masks (Nick, Emily-Jayne, Amahle and Austin)

Grade 1 — Forest Friends (Hayley, Asmaa, Emma and Megan)

Grade 2 — Feet on Fire (Nathan, AJ, Malwande and Aphelele)

Grade 3 — Not Furious, Just Fast (Ariya, Banzy, Yaseen, Abigail and Claire)

The pre-school and foundation phase pupils were treated to a puppet show on Friday, August 31.

With beautiful puppets and exciting music, we were all taught how to look after our planet and how to prevent pollution.

Our children were all eagerly involved with dances and actions.

On September 1, Wembley college hosted our annual Founders’ Day sport festival.

Schools from around the Midlands participated and showcased their sporting talent with great enthusiasm.

A total of just over 450 players showed up to make their mark on the hockey and soccer fields and, as a result of that, tons of fun was had.

Participating schools included Wembley College, Treverton, Greytown High School, Wartburg, St Johns, TWC, New Hanover, Ixopo High School and Hermannsburg.

The time and effort that was put in by the coaches and players in preparation for the festival was evident in the way the different teams played.

On behalf of Wembley College, we congratulate all the teams that participa- ted.
