Woman suffers extensive burns falling into fire

2017-07-26 06:01

A 49-YEAR-OLD woman suffered extensive burns when she fell into a fire on Monday afternoon.

The lady who has worked for Bracken for the past 10 years was burning a fire break with employees when the tragedy occurred.

On being told that an ambulance would take three hours to get to her, Bracken management transported her to a local doctor, who stabilised the severely burnt patient.

Bracken hired a private ambulance to transport the patient to Mediclinic and arranged for family members to visit her.

At the time of going to press the patient was in a critical condition in ICU.

A Bracken spokesman told the Greytown Gazette that an investigation is under way as to how the tragedy had occurred.
