ENVIROSAN -Hillcrest Villagers Rugby Club 3rd XV travelled to Lamontville on Saturday afternoon to play their last league match against Ogwini Bafana, in the KwaZulu-Natal Rugby Union (KZNRU) fourth division.

The home side plays out of a and#034;convertedand#034; soccer stadium, which is in fact a magnificent facility and a very well kept ground, situated amongst the sprawling SJ Smith Hostel Complex, just north of Umlazi.

The game started in a downpour of rain, which soon saw both sides battling the weather, as well as each other for possession of the ball, and territory.

The game was won convincingly by Villagers 28-0, but enjoyed equally by both sides. Try Scorersand#039;: Karl Ludick (2), Mike Moxley and Wesley Wagner.

Villagers 3rd XV captain and club stalwart Brian Lewis paid tribute to his side for a game “that was played in good sportsman like spirit, in which ultimately, the game of rugby was the and#034;winnerand#034;.”
