“He arrested the burglar and recovered copper pipes he had stolen from the property,” he said.

Hillcrest SAPS attended the scene of the crime.

Jackson said an armed response officer had responded to an incident in Hill Street later that day after a security guard arrested an alleged trespasser.

“The security guard had spotted the alleged trespasser jumping over the back fence via a CCTV camera and apprehended him. There was no damage to the property,” he said.

SAPS attended the scene of the crime to open a case.

“We commend the excellent work of both our vigilant officers who went the extra mile to chase the alleged burglars and the security guard who acted swiftly to ensure the alleged trespasser was brought to book,” Jackson said
