Father arrested for rape

2015-06-23 06:00

ON Monday a 29-year-old man was arrested in KwaNqetho for allegedly raping his daughter.

Hillcrest SAPS communications officer Constable N. Manqele said it is alleged that the man was left in the house with his seven-year-old daughter while the mother was at a parents meeting at school.

“After raping the little girl the father warned his daughter not to tell anybody about what happened,” he said.

“During the night the little girl could not sleep and cried continuously, when the mother checked her she discovered she had been raped.”

The case of rape was reported to the Hillcrest police station for further investigation which led to the arrest of the father a few hours later.

He was charged with rape and he will appear in Pinetown Magistrate’s Court soon.

Hillcrest station commander commended the Hillcrest Task Team for their quick response in this case. - Supplied.
