THE Kloof and Highway SPCA held its Golden Paw Society meeting recently.

Attendees were educated by the inspectorate team, who spoke about what a day in the life of an SPCA inspector entails, animal rescues that inspectors have been involved in and about the animal cruelty cases currently at court and where convictions have been received.

Guests were also addressed by key SPCA staff who discussed the latest news, activities and events and special guest speakers, Ria Schols from Litres for Education and Debbie Clark from BP Hillcrest.

The aim of the Golden Paw Society is to welcome our supporters as part of the SPCA family and keep them informed about the work undertaken by the Kloof and Highway SPCA in terms of inspectorate activities, animal health care, animal care in our shelter, outreach clinics and education to promote the humane treatment of all animals.

The Kloof and Highway SPCA extend an open invitation to supporters and community members who care about the welfare of animals and who would like to become more actively involved with the Society to join the Golden Paw Society.

There is a morning tea on the last Thursday of every month. For more information, contact Barbara Laubscher on or on 031 764 1212/3.
