KLOOF High pupil, Theesan Naicker’s passion for cricket began at the age of four when he played the game with his family, and from then on it grew.
“Cricket started as a playtime routine with my brothers, mum and dad with our plastic cricket set right from the age of four in Chatsworth. My inspiration began with the Bakers Mini Cricket and U9 club cricket with Chatsworth Sporting.”

Theesan has earned a number of cricket achievements over the years.
“I have worked hard in this sport and have been selected for the KZN U11, U15, [non-travelling reserve] and U17 teams.
“I was awarded the Durban High School Bowler of the Year in 2013 and 2014, the U13 Chatsworth Sporting Player of the Year, the Chatsworth Sporting first team cricket and Kloof High High's Spar Star of the Month in February.

“Besides playing cricket I enjoy playing soccer, gaming and watching sport. In the next five years I see myself playing for the Dolphins.”

Theesan wants to study sports science.
“I would like to study sports science with the intention of becoming a biokineticist. A biokineticist is an exercise specialist who increases a persons physical condition and quality of life by means of physical assessment and the prescription of healthy exercise habits.

“In the summer holidays I will be participating in the CSA U17 Week for the KZN team. Thereafter I will spend time with my family and friends. For those who want to take up cricket, visualise your dreams and never give up on them. Love what you do and have fun.”
