THE Under an African Sky calendar campaign for 2016 has kicked off with its stunning black and white “Contrasts of Africa” wall calendar which will be available to corporates and individuals for R170 each, excluding postage. All funds raised from the calendar will be donated to The Centre for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (Crow) for the rescue, release and rehabilitation of injured wild animals.

“The campaign would not be possible without the support of our loyal supporters,’’ explains Ian du Randt, MD of Compass Medical Waste Services and founder of Under an African Sky. “PailPac and three of our suppliers, have sponsored a calendar page every year since inception seven years ago, for which we are extremely grateful,’’ said Du Randt.

The generosity of the sponsors, as well as businesses and individuals who purchase the calendar, has enabled Under an African Sky to raise R1.1 million for animal welfare with over R750 000 being donated to Crow. The organisation, in Yellowwood Park, has used the funds for the following worthwhile projects:

• the refurbishment and expansion of Crow’s surgery units;

• employing an environmental education officer in Crow’s Educare Centre, as well as contributing towards the production and printing of the Educare Centre’s educational booklet; and

• buying two vehicles to assist in the rescue of injured animals and later the release of these animals into their natural environment.

Each black and white photograph of South Africa’s treasured wildlife has been bordered and is logo free so that the images can be framed after use. The A2 wall calendar is printed in matt on high quality paper and presented in a striking gift box. To place an order, visit www.un deranafricansky.co.za, email or ders@underanafricansky.co.za or phone 031 267 9700 and ask to be put through to Under An African Sky.
