CHRIST Church Waterfall is once again getting ready to host its annual holiday club. This year’s theme is “An Egyptian Expedition”.
Children will spend four busy, exciting mornings investigating and exploring fascinating places and adventures in ancient Egypt, with a flavour of Indiana Jones thrown in.
The holiday club runs from Tuesday 30 June to Friday 3 July. Registration is from 7.30am and the programme will finish at 12.30pm daily. All children from Grades R to Grade 7 are welcome. The holiday club is free. For more information, contact the church office on 031 763 3723.

Crow, the Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife, is running its Wildlife Warriors Holiday Club in the school holidays from June 29 to July 7. The programme includes craft activities using recycled goods. To book, phone Nompilo at 031 462 1127. The programme runs from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 1 pm, and is designed for children aged from seven to 12 years old. The cost is R100 per day or R450 per week and includes snacks and lunch. Space is limited.

Join the South African Writers’ Circle for “Romancing the Villain”, a one day seminar to be held at Augusta Estate, Hillcrest on 18 July. Published authors Elana Bregin and Melissa Delport will be the principal speakers. Open to members of the public. Cost: R160 per person inclusive of a light lunch and teas. Lucky Bean is holding free holiday activities for children from Tuesday, 30 June to Saturday 18 of July at 10 Cadmoor Road.
The activities are suitable from 2yrs old up to 7yrs old and the entrance cost to the indoor and outdoor playgrounds is R20 per child for an unlimited time, adults are free.
