THE 2015 Polocrosse World Cup will be hosted by South Africa at the Durban Shongweni Club over the weekends of 3, 4 and 5 July and and 10, 11, and 12 July.

SA Polocrosse community invites the public to join them at the event and get behind Team SA.

The team is the reigning world champion and players are set to defend their title against Australia, New Zeland, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Ireland, England and the U.S. at this year’s tournament, aiming to keep the trophy in SA.

Each team will be allocated a pool of 16 horses on Saturday 27 June during the horse draw. Players will have five days to familiarise themselves with their horses before playing their first Test match on Friday, 3 July.

Horses for the World Cup have been supplied by the South African Polocrosse members, including World Cup players and supporters.

Team South Africa is captained by international player, Gavin Cocker. Completing in the men’s side is Jan Albert Steenkamp, voted best player in the world at the 2011 World Cup, Graham Maclarty and Travis Trimm.

The ladies team is headed by Celicia­ Jacobs, joined by Jean Hacklan, Caley Higgs and Matalie Maclarty. This team was announced in September 2014 and have been preparing for the tournament since selection.

General entry tickets for the event will be on sale at the gate, VIP tickets can be pre-booked through the event co-ordinator, Gill Cooper on 083 273 3553. A VIP ticket gives you access to the VIP catered tent. Picnic sites are also available for the duration of the tournament. For more information visit
