THE rainy weather did not dampen the spirits of the scores of youngsters attending the Mr and Miss Heritage Day pageant which took place on Saturday, September 22 at the KwaNyuswa Sports Ground.

Marketing and programme director for Rieco Bird Media Sibusiso Nzama said that he was very happy to see the community support, even though the weather did not play its part, they had an amazing turn-out.

“We had prepared so much for this event and postponing it was going to be a problem because we didn’t know when the rain would stop,” he said.

He said he’s really grateful that the community members came to celebrate and witness Mr and Miss Heritage Day being crowned.

“It wasn’t only about crowning the best contestant, but the community also got to learn about different cultures and they got to listen to some great music.”

“We would like to thank everyone who came to celebrate, learn and enjoy with us. Together we can never be broken.

“We also want to thank our sponsor Lala Kahle Cemetery, whom this event was not going to be successful without,” he said.
