CINDY Stevenson, owner of Curves
Hillcrest chatted about her reason to get behind the Curves brand.

“My biggest obstacle after giving up gymnastics was always my lack of self-confidence to follow my dreams and passions due to my inconsistent weight. “My upbringing was solid, but I was a product of the world of gymnastics and extreme training and ‘diet’ was just what you had to do regardless, that lead me into a world of yo-yoing.

“Woman, teenagers and even small children today are growing up with an immense amount of pressure, and without knowing it, that first crash fitness programme and ‘diet’ they dive into could really be the start of a lifetime of inconsistent weight and poor body image.

“It is at this early point that we need to engage — with the correct training introduction for both their mind and body.

“My reason for owning a Curves is purely to help others who think they’re alone in their thoughts, to help others truly understand and think before going on a diet and starting a training programme without the understanding and guidance of the role their mindset plays.

“My passion is to empower women from youth to mature years & educate them about the importance of real health for the body & the mind, from the inside out. It’s more about improving

the thoughts we feed ourselves with, and it’s never too late to learn new habits.

“The Curves training programme is packed with scientific research and is unique in it’s approach to focus on one’s mindset and the first few sessions. The coaching every woman needs to make healthy choices and decisions for life through the understanding of their own ‘thinking errors’ that prevent them from reaching their goals.

“This is where true health and healing begins. It is why I train members with passion and nothing excites me more than the simple switch in confidence that a member has when her mind is more motivated, her body feels stronger and she is out of the osteoporosis zone or can run a 5 km she never could before.

“I believe that Curves will remain the leading brand in women’s fitness for many years to come because we simply stick to what works and we are unique in our long term approach to a new mindset,” Stevenson said.
