WOZA Moya is an income-generating project of the Hillcrest Aids Centre Trust that assists over 350 crafters impacted by HIV/Aids, helping each person earn a sustainable income.

It’s vision is an Aids-free Valley of 1000 Hills, and all projects work towards this from prevention, care, community outreach and income generation.
One of the income generating projects is a piano evening with pianist Count Filip Kormuth, initiator of this event on June 22 at 6 pm.

Speaking to the Fever about his career, CT Kormuth said he was born in Prague in 1981 to a Slovak family although having grown up in South Africa, he feels South Africa to be his home.

“After moving to South Africa in 1993 I recommenced formal training in music with an enrollment at the Natal University [2000] where I obtained my Masters in piano performance [2006].
“I was also a lecturer of piano, keyboard studies and music history until the end of 2012. Apart from my Master’s degree, I also hold the internationally recognised Performance Licentiate from Unisa [2006].

“I also hold the post of curriculum developer for the Unisa undergraduate courses in composition and music theory.” CT Filip has been a concert pianist in South Africa and abroad, with over 100 performances also performing some of his own works.

He encouraged the community to support the Woza Moya fund-raiser.

There will be classical music, tea and or coffee at interval and an art exhibition at Woza Moya Embocraft. The evening starts at 6 pm and ends at around 8.30 pm. Tickets are R100. For more information, go to wozamarketing@hill
